TMTPOST -- Donald Trump pushed back Thursday on speculation that he intends to punish Elon Musk’s companies by revoking federal subsidies, amid their ongoing rift over the former president’s hallmark tax legislation. “Everyone is stating that I will destroy Elon’s companies by taking away some, if not all, of the large scale subsidies he receives from the U.S. Government. This is not so!” Trump wrote on social media. “I want Elon, and all businesses within our Country, to THRIVE.” While it was unclear which remarks he was responding to, Trump emphasized that strong business performance benefits the nation. “The better they do, the better the USA does, and that’s good for all of us,” he said.
