TMTPOST -- Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence startup xAI has released an earlier version of its large language model, Grok 2.5, to the open-source community. The model weights are now available on the AI platform Hugging Face. “The @xAI Grok 2.5 model, which was our best model last year, is now open source,” Musk said in a post on X. He added that the company plans to release Grok 3 as open source “in about six months.” The move underscores xAI’s bid to build momentum against rivals such as OpenAI, Anthropic and Google DeepMind, while tapping into the developer community to accelerate adoption.
