Chinese E-Commerce Platforms Slash iPhone 17 Prices With Discounts Up to 900 Yuan
TMTPOST -- Some Chinese e-commerce platforms are offering steep discounts of up to 900 yuan (USD126) on pre-orders of the newly launched iPhone 17, less than a week after its debut, even as demand outpaces the previous series.
On Pinduoduo, the 256GB iPhone 17 is priced at 5,099 yuan (USD715), compared with 5,999 yuan (USD840) on Apple’s official website. The 256GB iPhone 17 Pro Max is listed at 9,099 yuan (USD1,280), nearly 900 yuan cheaper than Apple’s official price of 9,999 yuan (USD1,405).
The discounts, however, are tied to limited coupon offers available only on a first-come, first-served basis at designated times on the platform.
JD.Com has also rolled out subsidies for the iPhone 17 through trade-in programs but has yet to provide direct markdowns.
Boosted by meaningful upgrades, Apple has received more pre-orders for the iPhone 17 on Chinese e-commerce platforms compared with the iPhone 16 series a year earlier.
