Exclusive: Huawei Sells Near 700,000 Tri-fold Phones
Huawei’s tri-fold smartphone sales continue to gain momentum, with total sales of the Mate XT and Mate XTs nearing 700,000 units since launch, according to information obtained exclusively through industry channels.
The strong performance underscores growing consumer interest in next-generation foldable phones, particularly tri-fold designs that expand into tablet-sized displays while maintaining pocketable form.
Huawei’s success comes as major competitors begin entering the tri-fold race. On Tuesday, Samsung officially introduced its first three-folding smartphone, the Galaxy Z TriFold, with a starting price of 3,590,400 Korean won (about U.S.$ 2,500). The device is expected to reach the Chinese market by the end of the year, marking Samsung’s most significant design shift in its foldable lineup to date.
With Huawei establishing an early lead and Samsung preparing its counteroffensive, analysts expect the tri-fold category to become one of the next major battlegrounds in the premium smartphone segment.
