Introduced in May 2022, the proprietary system utilizes advanced artificial intelligence and crowd-sourced vehicle trajectory data to simulate and calculate real-time signal changes without relying on direct official system integration. The application provides active countdown displays across all navigation modes—including driving, cycling, and walking—while predicting precise multi-cycle wait times during rush-hour congestion. Following a recent expansion into Taiwan via international data suppliers, Amap’s predictive countdown capabilities currently cover approximately 500,000 intersections across the Greater China region.
