Tencent Launches Buddy AI Program to Open Developer Tools for Corporate Agents
TMTPOST — Technology conglomerate Tencent Holdings Ltd. officially unveiled the "Tencent AI Co-Creation Camp - Buddy AI Ecosystem Plan" at its cloud-focused industrial application conference on Friday, releasing its enterprise-grade intelligent agent developer tools to commercial partners.
The ecosystem initiative launches with an initial cohort of 23 foundational members, including telecom leaders China Mobile and Unicom Cloud, alongside retail and enterprise heavyweights Ping An Bank, Meituan, Trip.com, and Anker Innovations. The strategic framework focuses on deploying autonomous AI agents across core corporate workflows, transforming Tencent’s WorkBuddy platform from a standalone digital workspace into a decentralized, collaborative network of intelligent software agents.
The large-scale ecosystem launch highlights a structural transition within the Chinese Mainland’s cloud software sector, where major hyper-scalers are pivoting from model-centric application program interfaces toward comprehensive agentic ecosystems. By embedding multi-enterprise workflows within a unified cloud framework, tech conglomerates are shifting software-as-a-service market structures away from isolated enterprise tools toward deeply integrated, autonomous corporate software networks.
