Dmall Pairs With WeChat AI to Launch Conversational Shopping at Pang Dong Lai
TMTPOST — Retail software provider Dmall Inc. has integrated into Tencent Holdings Ltd.’s new WeChat AI Agent testing ecosystem, choosing regional supermarket chain Pang Dong Lai as its first pilot location, according to statements on Tuesday. By linking conversational chat directly with retail inventory and payment backend systems, the integration creates a seamless shopping experience inside WeChat. Users can select items, complete checkouts, and arrange home deliveries through simple text commands instead of navigating traditional, multi-page Mini-Programs. Testing the system at Pang Dong Lai will allow Dmall to build a standardized, repeatable template to quickly deploy similar AI features for its broader grocery client network. This rollout marks a highly practical shift in how brick-and-mortar retailers on the Chinese Mainland are deploying generative AI to drive online sales. By replacing static digital storefronts with responsive chat tools, retail platforms are aiming to eliminate checkout friction and boost digital order volumes for traditional supermarkets.
