RoboParty Secures 500 Million Yuan for Open-Source Embodied AI
TMTPOST — Open-source robotics platform RoboParty has raised nearly 500 million yuan ($69 million) across its Angel++ and Pre-A financing rounds, the company announced on Wednesday, to accelerate the development of full-stack humanoid hardware infrastructure.
The capital injection was anchored by lithium-ion battery giant CATL, which acted as the sole investor in the Pre-A round, while existing backers Shunwei Capital, Matrix Partners China, Xiaomi’s strategic investment arm, and SenseTime’s Guoxiang Fund expanded their stakes in the Angel++ phase. Lighthouse Capital acted as the exclusive financial advisor and incubator for both transactions. RoboParty, founded in early 2025 by roboticists out of the Harbin Institute of Technology, will deploy the proceeds to scale its open-source "Roboto_Original" bipedal humanoid blueprint, optimize reinforcement learning training workflows, and expand its global developer community.
Industrial capital is flowing directly toward standardizing foundational hardware architectures as developers seek to lower the steep research-and-development barriers of embodied artificial intelligence. By supporting open-source software and hardware blueprints, early-stage startups aim to transition the robotics industry from isolated, proprietary laboratory designs to highly collaborative, cross-compatible hardware systems. This collaborative push is increasingly backed by major industrial and consumer technology conglomerates eager to secure early technical alignment with standardized robotic operating systems and high-precision physical actuators.
