Zhengqi Weilai Secures Angel Funding for Mobility Robotics Expansion
TMTPOST — Physical artificial intelligence startup Zhengqi Weilai (Upright Wonder Future) secured hundreds of millions of yuan across three angel funding rounds over eight months, the company announced on Monday.
The successive financing rounds drew equity from primary venture firms CDH VGC and Linear Capital, automotive corporate venture arms Hengxu Capital, Borui, and Zhengxuan Investment, alongside consumer strategic investor Chow Tai Fook. Proceeds will fund proprietary spatial algorithm development, scale assembly for its flagship QUORRA short-distance mobility robots, and expand global distribution infrastructure. Following initial volume production, the enterprise secured commercial purchase orders across more than 10 international jurisdictions while preparing direct-to-consumer storefronts on JD.com and Tmall alongside regional physical retail networks.
Venture investors are channeling capital toward physical robotics startups that combine proprietary hardware platforms with real-world spatial intelligence algorithms. Moving beyond structured factory floors into unstructured consumer environments requires dense multimodal training datasets, real-time spatial navigation, and resilient physical vehicle architectures. As early-stage valuations adjust across the broader technology ecosystem, specialized hardware developers with integrated manufacturing capabilities, proprietary data flywheels, and cross-border retail pipelines remain uniquely positioned to monetize autonomous short-distance mobility across global consumer markets.
