Zhipu AI’s ZCode Hits 1 Million Users With Feature Upgrade
TMTPOST — Zhipu AI announced Tuesday that its ZCode coding agent has reached 1 million users and launched four new capabilities.
The update introduces Goal mode for objective-driven task completion, Subagents for specialized parallel research and execution, Remote Control for mobile steering, and Off-Peak Tasks for background processing. To mark the milestone, every GLM Coding Plan quota was reset at 13:00 on Tuesday, fully restoring allotments for all subscribers.
ZCode, Zhipu’s agentic IDE built around its GLM models, functions as a multi-agent coding harness that plans, edits code, runs tests and coordinates subtasks autonomously. The user-base expansion follows rapid adoption since launch, with the company also offering a temporary 1.5-times quota boost through the end of August. The upgrades position ZCode to handle more complex, long-running development workflows across desktop and remote interfaces.
