TMTPOST — China’s new-energy passenger vehicle exports reached 540,000 units in July, rising 147.8 percent year-on-year and 8.1 percent month-on-month, according to data from the China Passenger Car Association. The volume represented 58.8 percent of total passenger-car exports, up 14 percentage points from a year earlier. Battery-electric models accounted for 59.5 percent of NEV exports, down from 65.1 percent previously, while the A00-plus-A0 mini and small BEV segment rose to 42.2 percent of pure-electric shipments from 36.6 percent. Narrow plug-in hybrids took 35.9 percent of NEV exports and extended-range models 4.6 percent, both higher than a year earlier. Leading exporters included BYD, Chery, Tesla’s China operations, Geely and Changan. The association attributed the expansion to Chinese manufacturers’ scale advantages and rising overseas acceptance of domestic NEV brands, with demand supported by high global oil prices and competitive product offerings in emerging markets.
