Westlake Robotics Completes Series A Amid Rapid Fundraising
TMTPOST — Westlake Robotics has closed a Series A financing round led by Haiyuan Capital, bringing its total capital raised in six months to RMB 500 million.
The latest round, sized at nearly RMB 100 million, will primarily fund research into a unified full-body large model for humanoid robots and the establishment of an embodied-intelligence talent cultivation base. Prior rounds within the half-year period drew participation from SAIF Partners, Xiaomiao Langcheng, Henan Investment Group’s Huirong Fund and other institutions, creating a mix of state-owned, industrial and venture capital backers.
Founded by Westlake University professor Wang Donglin, the Hangzhou-based company develops end-to-end embodied-intelligence models and humanoid platforms, including its Westlake o1 robot and the GAE general motion model. The dense financing cadence underscores investor focus on general-purpose brains capable of coordinating perception, planning and whole-body control for commercial humanoid applications.
