TMTPOST — Geely Automobile Holdings Ltd. founder Li Shufu has resigned as chairman and executive director effective today, the Hong Kong-listed company announced Monday. An Conghui will succeed him as chairman. Gui Shengyue steps down as chief executive to become vice chairman while remaining an executive director, and Gan Jiayue has been appointed chief executive. Li has been named lifelong honorary chairman and will continue as chairman of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, the controlling shareholder. The company said the changes aim to further improve its professional-manager authorized operating mechanism and support sustainable development. Li has held the Geely Auto chairmanship since 2005; the move separates day-to-day listed-company governance from ownership and long-term strategy at the holding-group level.
