TMTPOST — Autonomous-driving specialist Momenta, chipmaker XHEART and BlackBerry’s QNX division have agreed to jointly develop a production-ready autonomous driving platform that meets global safety standards, the companies announced Wednesday. Momenta will contribute its full-stack autonomous driving algorithms, XHEART will supply its automotive-grade X7 system-on-chip, and QNX will provide the QNX OS for Safety based on QNX Software Development Platform 8.0. The integrated solution is designed to help automakers accelerate deployment of intelligent-driving systems while satisfying international functional-safety requirements. The platform has received TÜV Rheinland certification to ISO 26262 ASIL D, the highest functional-safety level under the standard. It is intended to give original-equipment manufacturers a compliant foundation for vehicles targeting regulated markets, including those subject to Europe’s UN Regulation No. 171 on Driver Control Assistance Systems.
