TMTPOST — China’s National Bureau of Statistics released age-group urban unemployment data for July on Wednesday. The surveyed unemployment rate for the 16-24 age group, excluding students, stood at 17.9 percent, up 3 percentage points from June. The rate for those aged 25-29, excluding students, was 7.2 percent, while the rate for the 30-59 group, excluding students, was 3.9 percent. The overall urban surveyed unemployment rate rose 0.2 percentage points to 5.2 percent. The increase in the youth rate coincides with the annual influx of university graduates into the labor market.
