Unitree Shares Fall Sharply in First Week After Explosive Debut
TMTPOST — Unitree Technology, the humanoid-robot maker that listed on the STAR Market a week ago, has seen its market value shrink by nearly 200 billion yuan amid a rapid pullback from peak valuations.
Shares of Unitree (688836.SH) surged to an intraday high of 1,100 yuan on their Aug. 19 debut, valuing the company at about 444.9 billion yuan and delivering peak paper gains of nearly 475,000 yuan per winning lot of 500 shares. After consecutive sessions of declines, the stock traded at 611 yuan by midday on Aug. 26, up 1.36 percent on the day but valuing the firm at roughly 247.1 billion yuan.
On Aug. 25 the shares touched an intraday low of 588 yuan and closed at 602.8 yuan, putting the market capitalization at about 243.8 billion yuan. The maximum drawdown from the opening peak reached 46 percent as investor sentiment shifted from euphoria toward assessments of fundamentals.
