TikTok Shop Southeast Asia Lowers Merchant Entry Barrier for Cross-Border E-Commerce
TMTPOST -- TikTok Shop Southeast Asia has updated its onboarding policy for cross-border e-commerce, relaxing entry requirements and enhancing resource support.
Starting from August 31, 2026, merchants holding a business license for individual industrial and commercial households in Chinese mainland will no longer need to provide proof of operating revenue from third-party platforms or apply for an additional invitation code. They can directly apply to join TikTok Shop Southeast Asia’s cross-border e-commerce platform.
In addition to lowering the entry barrier, a new “Flywheel Program” has been launched to support newly onboarded merchants, which includes a commission exemption of up to 120 days. Furthermore, for high-quality merchants with mature supply chain capabilities and content operation experience, TikTok Shop Southeast Asia offers a special “Billion Yuan Express” initiative, providing monthly subsidies of up to $15,000 for products and advertising funds of up to $10,000 in a single month.
