BEIJING, February 24 (TMTPOST) — Chinese smartphone maker OPPO rolled out its new flagship Find X5 series on Thursday, which starts at 3,999 yuan.

The series has two models – OPPO Find X5 and OPPO Find X5 Pro.

OPPO Find X5 has one wide and one ultrawide camera based on the Sony IMX766 sensor (1/1.56”, 1.0 µm), both with 50 megapixels. The model is also equipped with the 6nm MariSilicon X chip that reportedly took OPPO three years to develop. According to OPPO, the chip allows the phone to capture HDR video at 20-bits per channel, which translates to 120 db dynamic range. OPPO Find X5 series is the first flagship series from OPPO to adopt the MariSilicon X chip.

Besides the customized chip, OPPO also improved the algorithm for OPPO Find X5 series’ camera system. In addition, OPPO added the Hasselblad Natural Color Calibration to OPPO Find X5 Pro, a feature that was exclusive to OnePlus. The Find X5 series is powered by Qualcomm’s SoC Snapdragon 888 instead of the popular choice of Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, which came as a surprise. It is equipped with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The Find X5 Series runs on OPPO’s customized Android ColorOS 12.1.

The Find X5 has a 6.55-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The pro version on the other hand is slightly bigger with a 6.7-inch 1440p display.

The Find X5 Pro is certified IP68 for dust and water resistance.

In addition, Find X5 Pro also has a version that runs on MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000 SoC.

The OPPO Find X5’s 8GB+128GB version is sold at 3,999 yuan. The 8GB+256GB version is sold at 4,399 yuan while the 12GB+256GB version is sold at 4,799 yuan.

The pro version starts from 5,999 yuan to 6,299 yuan and 6,799 yuan depending on the RAM and storage.
