BEIJING, May 13 (TMTPOST) — Chinese electric vehicle maker Li Auto has provided internal position transfer opportunities for would-be graduates it signed campus recruitment contracts with after terminating the contracts unilaterally, Jiemian reported, citing a source with direct knowledge of the matter.

The job positions that Li Auto provides for college students do not match their educational background, the source said.

Li Auto is terminating campus recruitment contracts with students graduating this year due to business adjustments. Students with P4 level job offers will have the opportunity to transfer from the original posts promised in the terminated contracts to other posts at the company. Students with P3 level offers mostly do not get the opportunity to transfer. Departments that are involved include the enterprise system, product, smart driving and data development.

Students who have decided to take the position transfer opportunity only get two hours to prepare for their interviews, the source said. Interviewees were only informed about the title of the job positions they are getting interviewed for. However, they have not been provided with essential information such as the job responsibilities.

Some students are not happy with the arrangement of the position transfer because there is a huge gap between the positions and students’ backgrounds. “They sent people who are good at Java to positions for image development and machine learning. Students who are good at big data are sent to interview for Java development,” the source said. Some interviewers would even hint to the interviewees that they should give up on the job transfer because their resumes do not match the job requirements, the source said.

Students who passed the interviews still face chances of getting laid off. A student that passed the job transfer interview was told that there is still a probability of being let go.
