ASML Expands Team in China to Ensure Normal Operation
The semiconductor industry in China is growing rapidly and therefore generates increasing demand for steppers. The market demand in China drives ASML to continue to expand its team in China.

BEIJING, June 8 (TMTPOST) — Multinational stepper maker ASML further expands its team in China by hiring 200 more employees to ensure the normal operation and production of its clients.

The semiconductor industry in China is growing rapidly and therefore generates increasing demand for steppers. The market demand in China drives ASML to continue to expand its team in China.

ASML said that it has formed an emergency response team to handle the impact from the resurging Covid-19 outbreak in Shanghai. The emergency response team is managed by the company’s management team in China and consists of a number of departments at the company, including the environment and safety, client support, sales, facility management, communication and government affairs.

The emergency response team holds regular meetings on issues that the company encounters in operation. The team will coordinate resources across departments and come up with optimal solutions to ensure the operation of the company.

ASML believes that the impact from the Covid-19 pandemic is only temporary and that the Chinese market and economy will continue to grow positively. The company pledges to further explore the Chinese market and fulfill its commitments.

The company said that its projects in China have been proceeding in accordance with plans. It will further expand its team in China this year to meet the growing business demand in China.

Besides making steppers, ASML also provides services such as wafer evaluation and semiconductor production software for its clients.

ASML has been serving the integrated circuit industry in China for over thirty years. The company currently has 14 offices, 11 logistics centers, 1 training center and one repairment center in China. The company now employs over 1,400 employees in China.

In 2021, the company’s sales volume in China was 2.7 billion euros (around 19.25 billion yuan), accounting 14.5% of the global sales.
