TMTPOST–China's innovations, such as DeepSeek's high-performance, open-sourced artificial intelligence (AI) model, are examples of the country's growing technological prowess, said Roland Busch, Co-Chair of the China Development Forum (CDF) 2025 and Siemens AG president and CEO, at the 2025 CDF on Sunday.

The 2025 CDF kicked off on Sunday in Beijing. This two-day event has gathered over 80 senior executives and business leaders from top multinational corporations to discuss critical growth challenges.

Busch highlighted China's efforts to promote high-quality growth through technological innovation, structural transformation, and industrial upgrades. He also underscored the role of multinational corporations in fostering global economic stability.

He shared Siemens' commitment to China, where the company has operated for over 150 years, with a headcount of 30,000 people, including 5,400 R&D experts. Through its open digital business platform, Siemens Xcelerator, the company is helping small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) embark on digital transformation journeys.

To tackle major global challenges and unlock growth potential, businesses need to work together with government support to build robust ecosystems, Busch said. He called for deeper collaboration to address global issues and accelerate the development of new productive forces.

Major global brands, including Apple, Siemens, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz, are in attendance, with US companies forming the largest corps—27 in total. The participating companies represent a diverse array of industries, including finance, insurance, healthcare, and energy standing out as key sectors. Notably, this year has seen a record number of multinationals making their debut at the forum, with 17 companies sending representatives for the first time.
