With Helium Spot Price up 50%, Samsung and SK Hynix on Edge

NextFin News --  As the spot price of helium has skyrocketed by over 50% since late February,  procurement departments of semiconductor manufacturers such as Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, and East High-Tech are monitoring the supply situation and price fluctuations of critical raw materials on a daily basis to prevent production disruptions.

The supply of helium, a key byproduct of crude oil, has been in shortage given the closure of the Strait of Hormuz after the outbreak of the U.S./Israel-Iran war on February 28.
